Eddie's Bicycles and Sports Equipment has a wide selection of parts and accessories for all your cycling needs. We try to keep the most essential items readily available throughout the year, and we are always willing to special order anything you may need. Typically, we can have nearly anything here in just a few days. Riding can be hard your bike, so we try to stock most necessary replacement parts for mountain bikers, road bikers, and commuters alike. Chains, cassettes, cables, tubes and tires are always available. Deraileurs, wheels, saddles, and grips are also readily available. Fenders
Bicycle fenders will keep you nice and dry on those wet, or rainy days, and make commuting a much more pleasant experience. Besides keeping you dry, they also keep you clean- preventing you from ruining your clothes. Fenders are available for almost every type of bike, whether it be 26" or 700c or even 29er wheels- we got you covered! The majority of fenders available in our store are from Planet Bike, SKS, or Topeak.
Bicycle Racks
A bicycle rack, rear or front, can be quite an asset to the urban commuter. Not having to carry a heavy load on your shoulders can be quite an added benefit. There are a number of racks and rack accessories here in the shop from which you may choose. We choose to sell Jandd brand racks because we feel they are the best product on the market.
The most common is the rear frame mounted rack, and we have three different rear racks in stock with different load carrying capacities ranging from 25lb. to 75lb. Another common solution is the seatpost clamp rear rack, suitable for carrying loads up to 25lbs. This simple to install rack can be removed, or re-installed via quick release mechanism that clamps to your seat post.
In addition to racks, we also have a number of Jandd panniers and bags to attach to your new rack. We're sure we can find just the right combination for you!
Bike Lights
A bicycle light is another excellent accessory for your commuter bike. We love to mountain bike at night, so we're really into our lights. We have lights that will help you see, and lights that just help you to be seen. Front and rear lights on your bike will help motorists see you at night, which is really good, because then they won't run you over.
We have a wide selection of bike lights ranging in price from $15 to $390. We stock lights from Serfas, NiteRider, Knog, and others. We are very impressed with the Serfas lights this year. Serfas makes great re-chargeable front lights ranging from 100 Lumens to 1500 Lumens! These lights are very bright and will allow you to ride at night for hours and hours before needing recharged. The recharge time is only 3.5 hrs! The re-chargeable lights will save you the hassle of continously buying batteries, and they will save you money in the long run in addition to providing you more light.
Cyclometers
Cyclometer are an excellent addition to any bike. You can monitor your speed, distance traveled, elapsed time, and average speed- all of which can help you train harder, or maybe just to satisfy your curiosity about your daily commute. We have a number of different cyclometers available from CatEye. We have basic and more advanced models; wired, or wireless. Stop in and check 'em out.
Bike Tools
Bicycles sometimes need a little maitenance, and a little preventive maitenance can go a long way, so it is very good idea purchase some tools of your own whenever we're not around to help. We stock tools from Park and Pedros.
A multi-tool can adjust nearly everything on most bikes, and they are relatively inexpensive, as well as being compact enough to carry with you everywhere. A multi-tool is the only insurance available for cyclists. Keeping a patch kit handy is a good idea, too; or maybe a spare tube even.
We also have those specialized tools for the home mechanic, too: cassette removal tools, bottom bracket removal tools, headset wrenches, hex wrenches, chain whips, and more. We are also happy to give advice to go along with your new tools.
Oils & Lubes
Lubrication may very well be the most important thing you can do for your bike. Every moving part on your bicycle will work better with a little lube. Lubricating your chain regularly is paramount to keeping your drivetrain running smoothly and quietly and free from rust. Regular lubrication will make your chain and cassette last longer, and make it easier to pedal your bike, too. We stock a variety of different lubricants for varying applications and preferences and riding environments.
Our favorite lubes are Chain-L and Phil Wood. We also stock Tri-Flow, Boeshield T-9, ProLink, and Pedros brand lubricants. We are always happy to discuss lubrication with our customers; stop by sometime and we'll set you up with something that works best for you and your bike.
Hydration
Hydration is very important whenever you are cycling. We have water bottles in stock as well as an assortment of water bottle cages. For those of you who like to mix drinks in your water bottles, we have Clean Bottles, that have removable bottoms, so they can be cleaned very easily.
We also have a nice selection of hydration packs available as well. We are currently stocking models from Fox, Camelbak, and Salomon. All of these are very nice packs with different features and load carrying capacities.
